Chapter 866
Serena was so furious she felt like smashing something.
She stood up and stormed out, each step of her high heels echoing with her anger. The more difficult the
challenge, the more determined she was to conquer

Dailey returned directly to the Clarkson estate.
The family members were a bit on edge, and when they saw him return alone, they were both surprised and
suspicious.
"Isn't Lynette with you?" Jayne asked.
Dailey didn't respond. Instead, he strode upstairs without a word.
Jayne exchanged a glance with Caldwell Madge, both sensing something was amiss. It was unusual for Dailey to
return to the Clarkson estate alone.

"Linden," Jayne called out to the person who entered behind Dailey. "You were with him the whole time. Did you
notice anything unusual?"
Linden bowed slightly, a respectful smile on his face. "Nothing out of the ordinary."
"He didn't even visit Christine's place. He just went to Ford Enterprises and then stopped by a café, where he
spent stwith Miss Sinclair before taking a cab home."
This wasn't typical of Dailey. Normally, he was calm, but when it cto matters concerning Christine, he was
known to act impulsively. It was strange that he hadn't made any moves-so strange it bordered on eerie. And
this eerie feeling lingered for days.
After that day, Serena was nowhere to be seen either.
Jayne started to worry that the engagement might fall through and began considering other options.
Christine, on the other hand, was blissfully unaware of any of this happening in Vista Town.
One day, her landlord's daughter brought her a letter. She suspected it was from Jane, and upon opening it, she
was right. The letter was simple, mentioning that Jane had enjoyed her days and was planning to return to Vista
Town, reassured by Christine's previous letter that all was well.
For sreason, Christine felt touched. After dealing with the letter, she decided to relax with a comedy film.
Just then, the landlord's daughter crunning again.
"There's a lady here to see you," she announced.
Christine's first thought upon hearing "lady was Jayne. But when she reached the door, she was met by a woman
she'd never seen
before someone around her age, dressed head-to-toe in striking red, even her hair.
Christine was momentarily taken aback, seeing a reflection of her past self. She now dressed in muted tones to
keep a low profile. But that was beside the point; the visitor seemed to be here with a purpose.
"Hello, and you are?" Christine asked, trying to mask her surprise.
Serena gave Christine a once-over, her disdain barely concealed. "I'm Dailey's fiancée."
Christine was stunned-not because the woman claimed to be Dailey's fiancée, but because she had managed to
find her here. Had she been exposed?
Serena seemed to read her thoughts. "The Clarkson family knows you're here." Christine's eyes widened.

"What was the point of all this then?" she thought, closing her eyes in exasperation.
"There's no point in trying to run," Serena continued. "The Clarkson family has eyes on you, no matter where you
go."
Christine paused, then asked, "So, you're here to helpleave, is that it?"
"Exactly," Serena replied, raising her chin imperiously. "As Dailey's fiancée and the future daughter-in-law of the
Clarksons, | can send you abroad. The family won't pursue you, and you won't have to be under their
watch anymore."

Christine was tempted by the offer. But leaving the country meant losing touch, especially with Jane. Here, she
could easily send messages and keep in contact. Yet if she stayed, the Clarkson family might decide to deal with
her at any moment.
"Could you pass a message to Jane for me? Make sure Gregory doesn't find out."
Serena nodded in agreement.
Christine began packing her things.
When they arrived at a dock, she asked, "Aren't we taking a plane?"
