Chapter 239
"But you don't seeas a friend." This was the first tYolanda had overtly expressed her aggression toward
Bryce.
Initially, she was reluctant to confront him considering his bond with the original Yolanda.
But after several encounters, Yolanda realized that the gentle and kind Bryce in the original Yolanda's mind was
nothing like the person standing before her.
Either Bryce was skilled at wearing a mask, or the original Yolanda had never truly understood him.
"At least | wouldn't use words like ‘abandon yourself to vice' on my friends."
"Yolanda, I..." Bryce felt awkward, but he was unsure how to explain himself. "I spoke without thinking. It was just
in the heat of the moment."
"The truth always comes out in the heat of the moment," Yolanda replied sternly. "In your heart, | am exactly the

"I don't..." Bryce instinctively wanted to argue but found his words weak and unconvincing. "Could | really be
thinking that way?"
He gazed blankly at Yolanda's back as she walked away. "No, it can't be true... | love you. How could | possibly
look down on you?"
It seemed like something clicked in Bryce's mind. He hurried in the direction Yolanda had gone.
When Yolanda arrived at Willow Creek Clinic, it was just past lunchtime.
Baxter had been busy seeing patients. Upon seeing Yolanda, he asked her to cover for him with the patients in
the back.
After sitting down, Yolanda glanced at the door.
She had sensed someone following her on her way there.
Bryce's tracking skills were amateurish. She could have easily shaken him off with
a few detours, but she chose not to.
If Bryce didn't know where she was going that afternoon, he wouldn't give up.
Moreover, taking over the clinic wasn't something to be ashamed of. Yolanda didn't see the need to nide.
When Bryce saw Yolanda walk into Willow Creek Clinic, he initially thought she might not be feeling well.
Just as he was feeling guilty for wrongly accusing her, he was about to step inside to keep her company during
her appointment. Suddenly, he noticed that Yolanda was sitting in the doctor's chair.
"What the hell is she doing?" Bryce was furious and wanted to rush in but hesitated.
Yolanda's words earlier had struck a chord within him. He often found himself suspicious of her whenever
something happened, and he knew that mindset wasn't healthy.
Perhaps the doctor had stepped out for a moment, and Yolanda was just there to help calm the patients.

Bryce reassured himself as he continued observing the situation inside.
However, he waited for a long time, only to see Yolanda checking patients’ pulses and prescribing medication,
with no sign of another doctor returning.
"Yolanda is still a student, and she hasn't even studied medicine. How can she treat patients?"
Bryce clenched his fists, fearing that Yolanda might go down the wrong path and end up back in the juvenile
detention center again.
After all, practicing medicine without a license was a serious offense.
"What are you doing here, young man? Are you feeling unwell?"
A kind lady, who had originally cto see a doctor, approached Bryce when she saw him hiding behind a tree.
"Don't worry. Dr. Pattinson at this clinic is excellent."
"Then who's that inside?" Bryce asked while pointing at Yolanda.
